Waste & Recycling - Coverage Report Q1 2019

Published on: 04/15/2019

The Waste & Recycling industry continues to see strong growth driven by the expansion of the US economy and adjacent rises in industrial, construction, and commercial activity. While per capita waste production has remained relatively stable since peaking in 2000, the US still has more waste than any other nation generating ~4.5 pounds per person per day, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). As an essential service to communities with a high level of resilience to economic cycles, the short and long-term outlook for the industry remains attractive. In addition, population growth and urbanization will continue to drive the total figure for municipal solid waste (MSW) north and create demand for Waste & Recycling services.
