Headwaters advised PhysAssist Scribes, Inc., a Fort Worth, Texas-based provider of scribe services to hospital emergency departments, on its acquisition by TeamHealth, a Knoxville, Tennessee-based provider of outsourced physician staffing solutions for hospitals in the United States.
PhysAssist Scribes provides scribe services for more than 155 emergency departments in 22 states, with a focus on leveraging trained staff to enhance physician productivity and compliance. Scribes work hand-in-hand with emergency room physicians to improve their workflow and free them to focus on providing care rather than sorting through medical records and other clerical work.
“In a rapidly changing healthcare landscape, PhysAssist Scribes has grown by hiring and training skilled scribes who greatly increase physician satisfaction and quality of care,” said Managing Director Bob Balaban with Headwaters’ Business Services practice. “This transaction validates the nearly 20 years of work done building a company that solves real challenges in busy emergency rooms nationwide.”
Headwaters President & COO Paul Janson added, “Under experienced owners like TeamHealth, PhysAssist Scribes will have the platform to scale into an even larger business. We look forward to watching their continued success over the coming years.”
Headwaters MB acted as exclusive financial advisor to PhysAssist Scribes in the transaction. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
